Canada's Democracy Summit
January 25-27, 2019
Join us as we bring together initiatives, organizations and people from around the world, all activating change from the ground up.

DRIVE CHANGE. FROM THE GROUND UP.
DemocracyXChange is the annual summit for Canada’s emerging democracy sector to connect, learn and share.
Globally, the indicators are clear. We are in the midst of a democratic recession that may seem endless. But as we enter another federal election year, the opportunity to see this moment as ours to shape with a gathering focused on strengthening democracy and ground-up community change has never been more pressing. In an age of polarization, it’s more important than ever to connect across borders, political orientations, values and points of view.
From neighbourhood changemakers to thought leaders and national campaigners, DemocracyXChange is a meeting place for practitioners demonstrating the power of explicit engagement, technology and new ways of organizing to make change happen. Come join us.

“With DemocracyXChange we are working to bring together a community of engaged individuals, young and old, who are cross-partisan, politics-positive, and discourse-driven. We hope that DemocracyXChange will catalyze explicit change in our communities by sharing techniques, tools, and best practices from civic campaigns around the world and with each other.”
– Ana Serrano, Co-Chair, DemocracyXChange and Co-Chair, Open Democracy Project
-
“There’s never been a more important time for DemocracyXChange. We need to come together to demonstrate that democracy can make positive change in our communities, and that politics is a practice that is open to all.”
